These photos show the damage to Manila after the war. They are stark testimony to the sad fact
that to conquer a city is to destroy it. All his life, my father loved and respected the Philippine
People for their suffering at the hands of the Japanese. I don't know if dad took these shots, they appear to
be official photos. Never the less, Dad was in Manila on his way home in early 1946 and
never forgot the experience.
