This soldier was buried next to Sidney at Avellino: PFC William J. Walsh, New York. We honor your memory and your sacrifice. All those buried at Avellino including PFC Walsh, were exhumed and re-buried at Nettuno during the 1950's.

At the request of the family, Sidney Heistein's remains were exhumed in 1949 and returned to Mt. Freedom where he rests in a place of honor at the Mt. Freedom Jewish Center cemetery.
